Like a lot of people, I was dumbfounded when everyone expected me to know what I wanted to do with the rest of my life at the age of 18 (like, basically still a baby). I’ve always loved fashion, so I thought–DUH! Why don’t I buy clothes for a living? That’s where my degree in marketing and fashion came from.
When I graduated and entered the industry, I quickly realized all of the things that I don’t like about it. Fashion makes a huge, negative impact on the climate. It’s also SUCH a cliquey and petty industry. Plus, I was working like 80 hours A WEEK for minimum wage… but I did it, because everyone told me that “that’s just what you do.”
There’s a lot of those BS standards in every industry. NEWSFLASH–you don’t have to do anything that makes you miserable.
When I discovered the world of online business, it opened my eyes to a brand new perspective. You’re telling me I can spend more time with my kid, flex my digital marketing skills, AND work with the coolest people on earth ALL AT THE SAME TIME? Sign me TF up.
